This is a listing for a 210mm Nata (Japanese hatchet) with an ikake (layered steel) specification, made by Yoneda Hamono Kajiya in Akita Prefecture. Most of the craftsman's works are swords, making this Nata rare. This is a one-of-a-kind Nata made with an ikake specification, where the single-bevel blade is forged and then the iron base is forge-welded again. The blade is sharpened at approximately a 7:3 ratio, balancing sharpness and toughness.
The steel is V2 steel from Takefu Special Steel, water-quenched. The handle is made of oak.
