Vintage 1970s Ballantyne Berk of Burlington Arcade Scotland Red Cashmere Skirt S

This vintage 1970s Red Pleated Cashmere Skirt from Berk of Burlington Arcade by Ballantyne features a ribbed knit in vibrant red with an A-line mini / midi silhouette, elastic waist, and super soft hand feel. 100% cashmere  Mae in Scotland. Dry Clean Only  Ballantyne was one of the great knitwear brands. For some, the greatest. But the company has gone through several phases of questionable management, including briefly sharing its factory with Brooks Brothers and Zegna (that lasted three months) and being owned by the style-icon-famous Montezemolo family.  This cashmere has a unique firm peachy feel, which Ballantyne has always referred to as the ‘bare finish’, [achieved through] a combination of washing, steaming, boarding and drying.  No size indicated but it but it measures like a modern XS or small.
