Vintage Iowa State Souvenir Tablecloth 44” Square Hawkeye State Map Cotton 60s

A charming vintage souvenir tablecloth celebrating the state of Iowa — the kind of mid-century novelty linen that turned up in gift shops and 5-and-dimes across the Midwest. Bright golden-yellow ground with a wide white border of pink wild rose vines (Iowa’s state flower). Text clues within the map — including ‘Iowa State University’ and ‘State College of Iowa’ (Cedar Falls’ name from 1961–1967) — help date this piece to the early-to-mid 1960s. The center features a detailed illustrated map of Iowa packed with landmarks, colleges, state parks, rivers, and regional icons — Sioux City, Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, Des Moines, and dozens of small-town attractions rendered in classic tourist-map style, complete with charming little vignettes (fishing, sailing, farm animals, hikers, the Amana Colonies, Herbert Hoover’s birthplace, and more). The four corners showcase the Great Seal of the State of Iowa with the “Hawkeye State” banner, flanked by illustrations of the state bird (the goldfinch) and corn, Iowa’s signature crop. Measures 44” x 44”, a generous size for a card table, breakfast table, or as a striking wall-hanging piece for Iowa pride or farmhouse kitchen decor. Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no stains, holes, or fading noted. Currently shows wrinkles from folded storage — press with a warm iron for display. A wonderful piece for Iowa natives, collectors of state souvenir textiles, genealogy/heritage decor, or anyone furnishing a vintage farmhouse kitchen.
