Vintage Mexican Stoneware Coffee Set Hand-Painted Cobalt Blue, Estado de Mexico
Vintage
Charming 3-piece vintage Mexican high-fire stoneware coffee/tea set, hand-painted with cobalt blue scrollwork and foliate motifs on a gray salt-glaze-style body. Stamped “Estado de México” with workshop mark on the base. The standout piece is the coffee pot with its sculptural double-ring handle — a distinctly modernist touch typical of Mexican studio stoneware from the 1960s–80s, when high-fire workshops flourished in the region. The palette nods to classic German Westerwald blue-and-gray ware, reinterpreted with Mexican folk designs. Each piece is hand-decorated, so the brushwork has lovely one-of-a-kind character. Set includes: Coffee/tea pot with lid, double-ring handle — approx. 10” (26 cm) tall Creamer with blue-trimmed rim Lidded sugar bowl with glossy cobalt knob Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or crazing noted. Glaze is glossy and vibrant A beautiful display piece for collectors of Mexican folk art, blue and white pottery, or mid-century studio ceramics. Notes: High-fire stoneware of this type is vitrified and durable. #vintagepottery #mexicanpottery #stoneware #blueandwhite #coffeeset #teaset #folkart #midcenturymodern #handpainted #cottagecore #grandmillennial
