For sale is a beautiful pair of antique Austrian sugar tongs featuring a highly detailed Bird Claw or Chicken Foot design. These tongs showcase stunning pierced-lattice handle work and ornate floral/rosette details at the shoulders, typical of the Viennese Neo-Renaissance style from the turn of the century.  * Weight: Approximately 34 grams (1.2 oz) as measured on a digital postal scale; please allow for slight variations between scales*  Hallmarks & Authenticity: • 800: Stamped in a diamond reserve, certifying 80% solid silver purity (Continental Silver). • AUSTRIA: Indicating origin, produced for the export market. • ARGENTIN: Secondary European silver quality mark. Condition Report: This piece is in excellent structural condition for its age (circa 1890–1910). • Metal & Finish: The tongs feature an authentic aged patina. I have gently polished them with a silver cloth to bring out the luster of the 800 silver, though some minor surface oxidation (verdigris) remains in the crevices and on the bridge.
