Vintage Japan Redware Moriage Coffee Set Pot, Creamer & Sugar Bowl Brown Floral

Vintage three piece Japanese coffee service made of redware earthenware with a deep chocolate brown glaze. The set includes a tall covered coffee pot, a covered sugar bowl, and a matching creamer. Each piece features angular handles, gold trim, fine floral linework, and raised orange, white, and pale blue accents commonly described as moriage decoration.  The coffee pot has an elegant flared upper section with an integrated pouring lip. The matching sugar bowl has two handles and a fitted lid, while the creamer has a coordinating angular handle and gently shaped spout.  The Coffee Pot is marked JAPAN on the base. The exact maker has not been identified. Based on the mark, materials, decoration, and form, the set appears to date from the mid twentieth century and is likely from the 1950s, although a precise production date has not been verified.  Very good vintage preowned condition with noticeable wear to the gold trim and scattered loss to portions of the hand decorated floral design. The raised orange, white, and pale blue accents also show some wear. There is light shelf wear, and variations within the dark brown glaze consistent with age and use.
