Description
Jouluvana — literally “Christmas Old Man” — is Estonia’s answer to Santa Claus, and this figurine captures him mid-delivery: red-capped, white-bearded, weighed down by an overflowing woven basket of toys, fruit, and gifts balanced on his back. He’s part of the International Santa Claus Collection, a series launched to document how gift-giving folklore differs country to country — over 70 figures span everywhere from Russia’s Grandfather Frost to Italy’s La Befana. Collectors of the series tend to hunt piece by piece, so a single well-preserved figure like this one — clearly marked SC68 on the base, dated 2003 — fills a specific, sought-after gap for anyone building the set. • Series: International Santa Claus Collection • Figure: Jouluvana (Estonia), SC68 • Year: 2003, International Resources LLC • Material: Resin
