Antique Avalon Faience Blackberry White Majolica Pitcher Chesapeake Pottery
Chesapeake Pottery
Condition Pre-owned antique condition. There is a hairline crack extending down from the rim on the interior wall, as well as a small chip to the rim near the handle. The pitcher also has age-related crazing, light discoloration, and expected wear to the hand-painted gold trim. Despite these condition issues, it remains an attractive display piece with beautiful antique character. Please review all photos carefully for the complete condition and details. Description Offered is a beautiful antique Avalon Faience White Majolica pitcher produced by the Chesapeake Pottery Company of Baltimore, Maryland during the late 19th century. This charming pitcher features a textured ivory glaze decorated with raised blackberry vines, leaves, and berries highlighted with hand-painted green accents and gold trim. The underside retains the desirable Avalon Faience backstamp. Measuring approximately 4.25 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide, this is a lovely example of early American art pottery that displays beautifully in a Victorian, cottage, or majolica collection.
