This is a 58mm MC UV filter from Kenko.
It's a basic ultraviolet absorbing filter
and is also ideal for lens protection.

It sharply cuts UV rays below 390nm. It features a double-sided multi-coating. The filter glass has a very slight yellowish tint.

Ultraviolet light is invisible to the human eye, but film and digital image sensors are sensitive to light beyond the visible spectrum. By cutting UV light, this filter helps achieve an image that is closer to what the human eye perceives.
