Description
A Southwestern belt buckle attributed to Alpaca Mexico work - the rectangular face is engraved with a hawk or eagle motif and inlaid with iridescent abalone shell that flashes blue and green in the light. Some of the abalone inlay is missing from the top section of the buckle, visible in the photos. The base metal carries an aged copper-bronze patina. Condition is fair - the missing shell is the main flaw, with the engraving and frame otherwise intact and no structural damage. Standard belt attachment on the reverse. A great candidate for a collector who appreciates the abalone work as-is.
