This is the popular Okura Mute.
For trumpet.
This is a popular handmade practice mute, invented by trumpet player Toshio Okuda, that balances high sound-dampening performance (around 60dB) with a natural playing feel.
It can be disassembled and washed with water to keep it clean.
The air holes can be adjusted to change the resistance, making it less tiring for long practice sessions and helping to maintain correct playing technique.
It is light and small, making it convenient to carry.
