VINCENT BACH CORP MT VERNON NY 6C Mouthpiece

This is a vintage Vincent Bach trumpet mouthpiece manufactured at the Mount Vernon, New York factory (primarily from around 1953-1965). It is also known as a collector's item that distinguishes it from current Elkhart-made mouthpieces.

* Outer rim diameter: Approx. 27.1 mm (measured)
* Inner rim diameter: 16.20 mm (= Bach 6C / 7C series)
* Overall length: Approx. 86.7-88 mm (measured)
* Throat: #27 (3.66 mm) *Standard
* Backbore: #10 (Standard - for C cup) Equivalent to Warburton #7 - #8
* Cup depth: Medium (slightly flat rim)
* Finish: Silver-plated

[Notes] Mount Vernon era pieces are said to have a different tone and quality compared to current Elkhart-made mouthpieces, and are highly regarded by enthusiasts. However, there are significant individual differences, and dimensions may vary slightly.

Condition: Believed to be original plating, but there are many scratches overall, and the plating is peeling in some areas. There is no distortion or dents that would affect playability.

I am using a re-plated mouthpiece of the exact same model number, but it has a dense sound with good note connection, and I believe it is completely different from current mouthpieces. I think it is a wonderful mouthpiece.

The 6C is known as the size used by Chet Baker in his later years.
