MONETTE UNITY B2

The pinnacle of modern trumpet mouthpieces, the current Monette Unity B2.
This is the model and manufacturer favored by renowned global artists, including Wynton Marsalis.

I used this mouthpiece as my main one and was very fond of it, so there are some signs of use.
Please judge the condition from the photos and purchase with your understanding.

This model is equivalent to a Bach 1-1/4C, but I believe the playing feel and tone are completely different from Bach.
Also, compared to the newly developed B2-7 rim, which is flatter and wider for increased endurance, this B2 rim has a shape closer to the traditional B2 rim and Bach rims, making it easier to transition from other mouthpieces. I found this one easier to play without feeling awkward.

Monette's unique design creates a mouthpiece that is wonderfully effortless, easy to play, produces a consistent, thick tone, and offers excellent pitch accuracy.

The Unity model, in particular, features improvements in efficiency over previous Monette mouthpieces, offering exceptional dynamic range from pianissimo to fortissimo and an expansive tonal range from low to high notes.

The following are my personal impressions, for your reference:
- The low notes can be played more effortlessly and richly than with any previous Monette model.
- The transition to high notes is seamless, and they are produced with exceptional ease.
- When transitioning from a soft, thick tone when playing gently to a strong fortissimo, the fundamental tone remains consistent while gaining a solid richness, resulting in a very natural change.
- While the overall sound is very thick and rich in the low register, the smooth quality in the upper register makes it easier to monitor than previous models, and it doesn't get lost in the band.
(Some people may perceive this as a brighter tone as a result.)

Monette mouthpieces have become even more expensive in recent years due to increased shipping costs and customs duties.
