Antique 1867 John Haley Bellamy Masonic Clock Niles Ward & Co Charlestown MA

A museum-worthy masterpiece of Reconstruction-era Americana, this 1867 Masonic shelf clock represents the pinnacle of 19th-century fraternal craftsmanship. Designed by legendary folk artist John Haley Bellamy during his historic Charlestown, MA period, this piece has been digitally evaluated and authenticated by Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates. What elevates this specimen to elite status is the incredibly rare surviving paper label on the reverse from Niles, Ward & Co., preserving the September 10, 1867 patent date. The walnut case is a tour de force of secret society iconography: a deep-relief carved Square and Compass, fluted columns, star, level, plumb, and gavel. Dimensions: Approx. 11.5 H x 10.5 W x 3 D. Condition: Beautiful original patina with honest wear, including a center seam separation, a chipped upper tip, and base wear. The movement is stiff and left unwound to preserve integrity.
