An external storage device that can use commercially available 3.5-inch floppy disks (MF-2HD). It connects to the expansion communication port on the back of the Sega Saturn console. By using the included FDD Operator, you can copy data from the console's internal RAM or Power Memory. Additionally, if the software is compatible, you can save directly to the floppy disk. The set includes the floppy disk drive, AC adapter, FDD Operator CD-ROM, and a floppy disk.

For software other than games that supports the floppy disk drive, Koei (now Koei Tecmo) released the Sega Saturn Word Processor Set, which included a word processor and printer.
