Vintage Austrian Trachen-Puppen Costume Doll with Blue, White & Red Outfit
Trachten-Puppen
This is a beautiful vintage Trachten-Puppen (traditional costume) souvenir doll, representing the Bregenzerwald (Bregenzerwald Forest) region of Vorarlberg, Austria. This Mid-Century collectible beautifully captures the historic Juppe folk attire of the Alpine Valley. She features the highly distinct regional Glotzete Kappe (or Spitzkappe) headdress - a gold and black embroidered bonnet topped with a stiff, structured miniature red crown. Features and Details: AUTHENTIC ATTIRE: Dressed in a dark embroidered vest, white lace-trimmed puff sleeves, a delicate cream apron with lace details, and a blue skirt finished with red rickrack trim. ORIGINAL FACTORY TAG: Still retains the highly desirable original round pink paper Trachten-Puppen tag attached to her skirt. ESTIMATED CIRCA: 1950s-1970s PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS DOLL HAS SOME IMPERFECTIONS: Her apron has some brown stains on it. Her blue dress shows signs of wear and has a white spot and hole in the back. There are some gold strands that have come undone on the yoke of her blouse. The ribbon that is tied in the back is frayed a bit. I'm not sure how her headband is supposed to fit in the back. There is a separate piece in addition to the one on her head. There are 2 brown spots on the back of her pantaloon. There are some marks on her left arm.
