‼️Story‼️
Toei Kyoto Studio was buzzing with the filming of Shinsengumi, a major production to be released once every five years. The highlight of the film was the dynamic climax shot on the studio's proud, multi-story staircase, several dozen meters high. This was the famous staircase fall, where Shinsengumi warriors attacking Ikeda-ya would cut down stunt actors from the Ōbeya (extra actors) from the top of the grand staircase, depicting their spectacular fall with immense power.

Of course, the actors who fell did not escape unscathed. There was a significant risk of paralysis or even death. However, for the Ōbeya actors crammed into the studio's dormitory, this film offered a chance to become a star for one day in exchange for such risks.

This year, Ginshiro Kuraoka was playing the lead role of Toshizo Hijikata. He had an Ōbeya actor named Yasu, who adored him and called him Gin-chan. Despite their unusual pairing as star and extra, they shared an even stranger relationship. Ginshiro had pushed his lover, the actress Konatsu Mizuhara, who was pregnant with his child, onto Yasu to advance his career.

Knowing that the child in his wife's womb was not his own, Yasu, now her husband, takes on dangerous roles as an Ōbeya actor to cover the costs of childbirth. Even after marriage, Konatsu, still infatuated with Gin-chan, gradually begins to fall for Yasu, who is working hard as the father of her child. However, Ginshiro returns, realizing that Konatsu is the most important woman to him.
