J.Michael Tenor Bass TB-650L Similar to Bach 42B
Includes a no-name 6-1/2AL-L mouthpiece.
I purchased this used as a spare.
After acquiring it, I would blow into it about once every two months to maintain its condition.
Only the slide section was used about once a week for half a year.
It features a yellow brass bell for a large bore and a nickel silver slide.
The list price is ¥80,000, and the actual selling price appears to be around ¥60,000. It closely resembles the Bach 42B. I tested it with my own Bach 42BO and found the slide to be compatible, but the main tubing was not (the size was slightly different).
It gives the impression of having been stored away without much use.
The exterior looks clean at first glance, but there are some areas where the lacquer has peeled.
The most noticeable area is on the left side of the bell. Also, the rim of the bell has some rust.
The support ring on the slide has come off. I found it to be in the way, so it was convenient for me. It's possible the previous owner intentionally removed it. The ring itself is still present.
When tilted, the slide slips down on its own weight. There is a slight gritty feeling, but I believe it's within an acceptable range when cream is applied. I used this with the bell section of a Bach 42BO for a period.
As it is an inexpensive instrument, there are some areas where the craftsmanship is not perfect, but it was quite easy to play. I am an amateur, so I cannot make a definitive judgment, but I believe it can be used as is.
The case was dirty, so I washed it thoroughly. I think it has improved considerably.
I plan to ship this by wrapping the case in bubble wrap.
I want to respond as quickly as possible, but please allow up to a week for shipping as packing will take some time.
