Boosey & Co. Tenor Horn Class A Light Valve
Boosey & Co. Tenor Horn ClassA Light Valve
This is a tenor horn from Boosey, the predecessor to Besson.
The condition is good for its age.
The instrument has been cleaned, though the soft parts have not been replaced.
There are no major dents visible overall.
The 2nd piston button appears to be a replacement.
There is a generous amount of solder on the pipe extending from the 3rd valve casing.
The piston action is smooth.
There are vertical cracks in the slide tubes, but they did not cause any issues during normal use.
The tarnish could be removed if desired, but I prefer the current appearance. I have only lightly polished the bell engraving and left the rest as is.
The sound is slightly light but responsive, and the pitch was not a concern for me, likely due to my own skill level.
All parts can be removed and attached securely.
No solder joints appear to be detached.
Please note that this is a subjective assessment by an amateur, and I apologize for any oversights.
As this is a used item, returns are not accepted.
A mouthpiece that appears to be original is included.
We have confirmed that a trumpet mouthpiece can also be attached.
The case is a YAMAHA euphonium case that has been modified to fit this instrument.
