Yamaha French Horn Body [Includes Genuine Case] (YAMAHA YHR-664D)

This is a used YAMAHA French Horn YHR-664D. It has been serviced and both the rotary valves and slides are in good working order.

This is a Yamaha Kruspe-type full double horn (professional model, yellow brass, lacquered finish) manufactured between 1986 and 1994. The original list price at the time of release was around ¥450,000 (when new). It is now a discontinued model with an old product number.

It is built very similarly to the current YHR-668D and is recommended for those who prefer an instrument with resistance and want to play powerfully. *Kruspe type refers to the position of the 4th rotary valve on the left thumb side, where the complex tubing provides moderate resistance, resulting in a rich and dense tone.

*The bell is a detachable bell specification (removable bell cut) for easy storage in the case.

There are minor scratches from use, peeling of the surface finish, and dents, but the rotary valves move smoothly and all slides are very smooth, with no major deformations affecting playability.

*The 4th rotary valve switches between F and B♭, and is currently set to B♭ when pressed. If you prefer the opposite, please switch it before use.

*A mouthpiece is not included. Please purchase one separately or prepare your own.
