NorCap Sami Traditional Norwegian Baby Hat Saami Lapland Vintage

This is a traditional Sami baby hat, in excellent condition, which is part of the cultural attire of the Sami indigenous people who inhabit Sápmi, the northernmost regions of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia.   Cultural Significance: The style and decoration of Sami clothing (known as gákti or kofte) can indicate a person's place of origin, clan, or marital status.  Design: The hat is made from a dark blue wool felt, and features a prominent red trim with decorative green, white, and yellow banding. It has long red ties to secure it. The vibrant colors often reflect those of the Sami flag (red, blue, green, and yellow).
