1 pair of wooden Japanese snowshoes, vintage item

A pair of traditional Japanese snowshoes (kanjiki).
These are retro items with a sense of age.
Ideal for walking on snow. This is a used item. Please read the photos and description carefully. Purchased new at a mountaineering equipment store about 50 years ago, and used for walking on snow about twice a year for three years. Since then, they have been dried to remove moisture and stored in a closet with moth repellent. The material is unknown, possibly bamboo, rattan, or another type of wood. The cross-section shows a dense material. The surface has some scuffing on the bark due to 50 years of aging. There are no cracks or breaks that would lead to damage. The toe area has some fraying or darkening around the knots, but they are not broken.
The knot-like areas in photos 4, 5, 12, and 14 are also not broken.
The brown rope holding the claws is unknown, possibly shuro rope, banana fiber rope, or Manila hemp fiber. The white rope at the front is a Kuremona rope that was attached by the owner after purchase. The rope is partially frayed.
No breaks or rust on the wire. The final knot of the wire is on the back, the side that contacts the snow, but it is slightly pointed, so do not touch it with bare hands. (It has been bent inward as much as possible). The red straps are undamaged. The eyelet hardware is firm but has some rust. The fastening hardware has no rust. The ring hardware is almost rust-free. The strap fixing hardware (TOP Kogyo brand) is undamaged and rust-free. Snowshoe width outer dimension: 23-24 cm. Length outer dimension: 38 cm.
Due to age-related deterioration, safety on snowy mountains cannot be guaranteed.
