Angel Boehm The First Noel White Bisque Porcelain Christian Nativity Christmas
Boehm
This figurine is part of the Boehm “The First Noel” Nativity Collection, an all-white bisque porcelain nativity set produced in the early 1980s. The collection was inspired by the traditional Christmas carol “The First Noel”, which tells the story of the angel announcing the birth of Jesus to the shepherds. In the carol, the opening verse begins: “The first Noel the angel did say Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay…” This angel figurine represents that heavenly messenger proclaiming Christ’s birth. The raised hand and upward gaze symbolize the angel announcing the good news to the shepherds on the night of Jesus’ birth. This piece was originally sold as part of a larger nativity series that included: * Mary * Joseph * Baby Jesus * Three Wise Men * Shepherd * Donkey * Angel The Boehm “First Noel” collection was produced from approximately 1982-1983 and has since been discontinued, making individual pieces collectible today.
