Antique Blakeman-Henderson Hand-Painted Serving Bowl, Limoges, France

This is a Vintage Grape-Themed serving bowl. This bowl was distributed by Blakeman & Henderson, a high-end porcelain import firm operating out of New York City between 1892 and 1912. They did not manufacture porcelain themselves; instead, they commissioned elite French artisans and factories to create and decorate premium pieces exclusively for the American market. The porcelain bowl was manufactured in Limoges, France.  The gilt binding around the bowl’s edge has worn away in some parts, mostly at the “handles”, but is mostly in tact.  The hand-pained grape and leaf theme was signed by the artist, J. Golse.  The bowl measures  11”x8”x2” 1-7/8” deep at its center
