Yamaha Full Double French Horn YHR-661

299.00 $
Description
This listing is for a Yamaha YHR-661 full double horn. The valve change is push B♭.
This was a professional model from Yamaha First, and was the top-of-the-line instrument from Yamaha at the time.

Regarding its condition, there is no stiffness in the slide tubes, and the rotary valves operate without issue. No solder joint failures were visible.
However, while no specific defects were found, we recommend having it inspected by a repair technician at least once.

As a side note, current Yamaha horns are subject to JIS standards, which limit the use of various steel materials. However, during the era when this horn was manufactured, regulations were apparently more relaxed, allowing for greater freedom in material selection.
For this reason, Yamaha horns from this period tend to develop red rust more easily. It seems that materials with a higher copper content were used compared to current models, resulting in a darker, ear-friendlier sound than current Yamahas, in a good way.

We apologize that this is not an absolutely pristine item, but due to the recent increase in fraudulent returns, we generally request no claims and no returns (NCNR).

Thank you for your understanding.
