This is a supreme masterpiece that allows you to enjoy Mozart's timeless works with the traditional sound of the Vienna Philharmonic. This album features three masterpieces that symbolize his career: Eine kleine Nachtmusik, which elegantly colors the night's melody; Haffner, which is bright and festive; and Symphony No. 40, which holds tragic passion.

The performance is by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by the master Karl Böhm, one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century. Particularly noteworthy is the intoxicatingly rich and warm string sound, unique to the Vienna Philharmonic. Böhm, by eschewing excessive interpretation and adhering to strict and precise tempos, maximizes the inherent beauty and elegance of Mozart's music. This is truly a definitive recording, worthy of being called a standard, where Böhm's mature and natural approach in his later years perfectly blends with the orchestra's traditional craftsmanship.
