#Kodo318's Classic CDs are listed here.

This is a used item. It is one CD from the Shogakukan CD Magazine Enchanting Masterpieces of the Vienna Philharmonic series. This listing is for the CD only (the booklet is not included).

This CD features masterpieces by the Russian maestro Tchaikovsky. The main piece is the Piano Concerto No. 1, known for its powerful opening horn. This is followed by the Hamlet fantasy overture, which depicts Shakespeare's tragedy in a profound manner, creating a dramatic and emotionally rich program.

The performance is by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra during its golden age. For the Piano Concerto, the virtuoso Clifford Curzon performs as the soloist, delivering a distinguished yet passionate performance under the baton of Georg Solti. The warm strings and brilliant brass, characteristic of the Vienna Philharmonic, wonderfully accentuate Tchaikovsky's unique melancholy and exhilaration. The Hamlet is conducted by a young Lorin Maazel, who masterfully controls the orchestra with his sharp sensibility, vividly portraying the work's tension and tragedy. This is a CD that allows you to fully enjoy the rich sound of this traditional orchestra.
