This is a whetstone for reed adjustment.
The abrasive grains are fine and suitable for micro-adjustments.
This tool revives difficult-to-play reeds, such as those that are too thick to blow, uneven on the left and right sides, or have swollen from absorbing water.
As shown in the second photo, adjust the reed by rubbing the flat surface on the back of the reed against the stone.
Even though the back of a reed may appear flat at first glance, it has unevenness at the nano-level, and this unevenness negatively affects the sound. Even just one stroke of the reed on this whetstone can make a difference in sound and playability.
Size: 10cm (length) x 2.5cm (width) x 1.3cm (height)
Can be used for smaller reeds such as Bb and Eb clarinets, and soprano and alto saxophones.
This product is made by a specialized domestic manufacturer, and its flatness is finished with extremely high precision.
Only the whetstone is provided. The reeds in the photos are not included.
