Art Nouveau Vtg Metal Coin Purse with Chain Coth Interior

Condition: The fabric accordion divider is completely intact and not torn. While there is age-appropriate staining and discoloration, having the original fabric lining structurally sound holds much better value than if it were missing or shredded. The clasp does shut easily. Close up details, this purse is made of embossed brass or German silver with a heavy brass patina.Identifying DetailsColoration: The worn areas show prominent, warm golden-yellow undertones.Aging: The deep, darkened areas in the floral crevices show a classic dark brown oxidation.Composition: This specific combination of yellow wear and brown oxidation is characteristic of a base brass alloy, rather than solid sterling silver (which would tarnish to a dark grey or black, with white or bright silver highlights underneath).
