Clarinets are made from African grenadilla, a heavy, hard wood that sinks in water, but good quality grenadilla wood is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain year by year. Therefore, the reality is that recent entry-level models from both Yamaha and Buffet Crampon are made entirely of plastic (ABS).
In that regard, this CL33 model is made from good quality grenadilla wood from the past.
Furthermore, the silver plating on the keys and other parts remains in good condition, and there are no cracks in the pads. The exterior of cases for Yamaha clarinets and flutes from this era deteriorates over time due to hydrolysis, becoming sticky. Therefore, the case has been replaced with a GATOR case. Thus, the case is new.
A mouthpiece is not included.
