RALPH LAUREN Black Watch Backpack With Adjustable Leather Straps Vintage Blue and Green Black Watch Plaid Backpack with Brown Leather Adjustable Shoulder Straps Top Handle Carry Central Zipper Open Exterior Side Pockets with Zipper Closure Measures Approximately 13 inches in Height Knapsack Comprised of Coated Canvas and Waxed Leather Won From Live Professional Auction In London England. The auctioneer made no mention to repairs or modifications to the bag. We know the history of these Ralph Lauren bags originate to the 1980’s/1990’s and we’re produced with the finest coated canvas and waxed leather. Upon receipt of the parcel, we immediately realized the straps had been painted rather than having a coat of wax applied to them as the care instructions indicated. We alerted the auctioneer and we set to refurbishing the straps. As the straps were neither prepped nor sealed, the paint came off easily, and we utilized RENAPUR Leather Basalm to rehydrate the straps instead of wax. The straps require additional treatments with renapur leather basalm, but are back to their original condition. Applying REANPUR with the sponge that comes with the screw lid container, and applying sparingly, will keep the strap water resistant, and supple.
