Description
Canon Speedlite 430EX Uses E-TTL II (Canon's smartest auto-metering), backward compatible with older E-TTL and TTL. Works with all Canon EOS cameras and PowerShot G series. **Zoom coverage** Has a built-in motorized zoom that covers 24–105mm (seven positions: 24, 28, 35, 50, 70, 80, 105mm). **Battery life & recycle time** Runs on 4 AA batteries — alkalines or Ni-MH rechargeable. Fresh alkalines get you roughly 200–1,400 flashes depending on power output. **Flash range** At ISO 100 with an EF 50mm f/1.4: normal flash reaches about 2.3–79.7 ft. High-speed sync (FP flash) cuts that roughly in half, to about 39 ft. **AF assist beam** Built-in infrared beam covers up to 9 AF points, effective to about 32.8 ft. at center and 16.4 ft. at the edges in total darkness. **Size & weight** 2.8 x 4.8 x 4.0 in., 11.6 oz. without batteries. Compact enough to leave on camera all day without neck fatigue.
