Description
Seasonal Rites of Baal and Astarte presents complete scripts for four Neo-Phoenician solstice and equinox rituals inspired by ancient texts and performed since 1974 by the Church of the Hermetic Sciences and the Order of the Temple of Astarte in Southern California. This illustrated edition includes stage directions, costume designs, and commentary on the rites' archaeological, mythological, symbolic, and esoteric significance, along with eight color photos and fifteen line drawings. Also featured is a scholarly essay on the Ordo Templi Astartes by Professor Robert S. Ellwood Jr., and Poke Runyon's modern adaptation of the ancient epic Aqhat, Son of Daniel, Prince Aqhat and the Magick Bow. First published in 1998 and reissued in 2004, this book is of interest to students of magick, Neo-Paganism, biblical archaeology, esoteric Freemasonry, and occult studies. --- OBAYF
