Sowbow Miyata Orimono Hanten

Purchased officially in January 2026.
Selling as I don't have many opportunities to wear it.

Hanten, a traditional Japanese garment, has long been cherished as one-mile wear for everyday use.
This hanten is made by Miyata Ori, a hanten manufacturer founded in 1913 (Taisho 2) in Chikugo City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
It features a relaxed silhouette with a rounded shape when worn, in a big size.
It is reversible.
This season, we've used TSUMUGI, a Chikugo textile with a slub yarn texture.
The fabric feels more substantial than previous seasons' hanten materials.

■ Chikugo Ori
This textile embodies the philosophy of onko chishin (learning from the past to understand the present), inheriting the traditional techniques of Kurume Kasuri while incorporating modern knowledge. It blends efficient machine production with time-consuming handcrafting processes.

It embodies the feeling of kirinagashi (effortless drape), valuing the atmosphere and mood created between the wearer and the garment.
The brand name SOWBOW (蒼氓) means people or the masses.
The name was chosen with the hope that SOWBOW's clothing would be close to people's daily lives, rather than being for someone special.
Primarily produced in the Kyushu region, we design and actively propose items suited to Japanese culture, environment, and history, utilizing traditional techniques (textiles, dyeing, sewing) cultivated in the region for generations.
