Description
Elegant matching pair of x-large vintage 16 brass altar candlesticks. Traditionally used in churches or chapels, these substantial column-style pieces feature distinct knopped stems, wide drip plates (bobeches), and stepped weighted bases designed to stabilize tall ceremonial candles. Made in India. Style: Gothic Revival or Traditional Church Altar styling, featuring clean columnar lines balanced by classic beaded or roped accent rings. Material: Solid polished cast brass, heavily weighted at the bottom to prevent tipping. Function: The wide, shallow cups at the top act as drip pans to catch melting wax from large altar or taper candles. Condition: Excellent condition as shown in photos.
