Oliviero Toscani’s Personal Sunglasses — Honey Round Frames
Oliviero Toscani
These are not just sunglasses. These belonged to Oliviero Toscani — the legendary Italian photographer behind Benetton’s most iconic and controversial campaigns — and he gave them to me himself. I was sent on a casting he was holding in Milan, Italy. I told him I liked his glasses and he took them off and handed them to me. Honey amber yellow acetate frames, round silhouette. 145mm temple length. These are from his own eyewear line, frames he chose to wear as his signature look. Toscani passed away on January 13, 2025, at 82, after a 60-year career that put him in rooms with Warhol, Lennon, Bellucci, and Fellini. He was called a “revolutionary in the world of advertising” and Giorgio Armani said the visual impact of his language set a standard. These retailed around $250. As wearable personal artifacts from one of the most consequential visual artists of the 20th century, they are without a price. Excellent vintage condition. Minor wear consistent with personal use. #olivierotoscani #olivierotoscanievewear #italiandesignersunglasses #vintagesunglasses #designersunglasses #roundsunglasses #yellowsunglasses #designereyewear #collectorsunglasses #collectorsitem #provenancepiece #fashionhistory #benettonphotographer #benetton #italianfashion #italiandesign #quietluxurysunglasses #quietluxury #oldmoneyaesthetic #oldmoney #vintageitalianeyewear #celebrityowned #oneofakind #wearableart #fashionphotography #iconicdesign
