Crafted from warm, honey-toned knotty pine w stunning natural wood grain & branch knots, this piece features a traditional colonial silhouette perfect for country, rustic, or farmhouse style decor. Rustic Hearth Box. This particular box is uniquely designed for safety near high-heat areas or fireplaces. It features a flush, protective METAL BASE PLATE (likely tin or zinc) secured w tacks on both the interior floor & exterior bottom. This dual-layer METAL shield historically protected household surfaces from hot pipes, matches, or embers. Easily wall-mounted via the keyhole opening on the extended backboard or displayed flat on a tabletop, mantle, or kitchen counter.
