Kosta Boda "Cell" Glass Sculpture Bertil Vallien Signed 90036 Artist Collection

A great example of contemporary Swedish art glass, this Cell (Model 90036) was designed by Bertil Vallien for the Kosta Boda Artist Collection.  Introduced in 2000, the Cell series features a molded face suspended within a heavy, frosted crystal monolith. Notably, this piece was engineered as a functional display vessel; it features a recessed chamber designed to house the free-standing heads from Vallien's iconic Brains series. Upon very close inspection under bright light, a tiny surface mark is noted on one edge. This is completely inconspicuous during normal display and does not detract from the beauty or the functional Brains housing of the piece. Hand-signed and includes original label.
