Antique Ansonia Iron 8 Day Mantle Clock *SUPER NICE* With Larger Lion's Heads
Ansonia
Very Good Condition Without Box and Papers! This beautiful antique iron clock was made by the Ansonia Clock Co., N.Y.C., NY, USA during the late 1800's. It has the original high quality Ansonia 8 Day Time & Strike movement signed and dated 1882 that is in very good condition. The movement has been ultrasonically cleaned and runs well, keeping time and gonging properly. It has a great old brass bezel and dial assembly, which is in very nice condition for as old as it is, as well as larger that usual brass lion's heads on either side and nicely styled paw feet. The case itself is structurally great. It is still mostly in the original finish, which is in nice condition, showing normal wear and flaking (although better than average) common to all antique iron clocks. It measures 11 wide x 9 high x 6 deep. This is a very nicely styled clock with a pleasant sounding gong that resonates throughout the room. Condition & Functionality Working Status: The clock is in working condition. It has sat unused for many years, but it ticks and runs easily once wound. Winding Key Included: Comes complete with its matching winding key. Cosmetics: Preserved in great antique condition with a stunning natural aged patina on the metalwork and face. Note to Buyer: Because this mechanical clock has been stored for a long period without operation, it is recommended to have it cleaned, oiled, or serviced by a professional clock technician to ensure optimal, long-term timekeeping accuracy
