Vintage Italian Occupational Prints on Wood Plaques - 1940s Set of 3
The Unbranded Brand
Charming set of three mid-century Italian wood plaques featuring 19th-century occupational prints — warm patina, gilded edges, and old-world appeal. These vintage pieces reproduce classic European engravings and were made in Italy circa 1940–1950. Each plaque depicts a different trade: the lamplighter (Accenditore di Lampane), the office chief (Chef de Bureau), and the clerk (Surnuméraire). Prints are mounted on wood with a glossy varnish and intentionally aged finish that mimics antique hand-colored artwork. Condition: Good vintage condition with authentic wear. One plaque shows heavier surface wear to the varnish along the front edges. The back of another has a superficial crack that does not show on the front. All three display mild scuffs, tiny paint losses, and light varnish crazing, typical for mid-century Italian plaques and part of their character. Hanging hardware is intact on all. Details: • Origin: Italy • Era: 1940s–1950s • Materials: Wood, printed paper, varnish, gilded paint • Size: 5 W × 6.25 H each • Finish: Glossy varnish with aged crackle patina Beautiful as a coordinated gallery wall trio or added to traditional, European, or eclectic décor.
