On October 25, 2019, Cigarettes After Sex will release their new album Cry on Partisan Records. The album was recorded at night in a mansion on the island of Mallorca, resulting in a rich, cinematic, and meditative work.

Around the same time their self-titled debut album was released, Greg Gonzalez (Vocals/Guitar) and bandmates Jacob Tomsky (Drums) and Randy Miller (Bass) moved to Mallorca, using the impressive location as a guide for the initial sessions of Cry. This record is completely tied to the location. Ultimately, I see this record as a film shot in a beautiful place, says Greg Gonzalez. While the songwriting progressed quickly, the lyrics took two years to complete. The album was self-produced and engineered by Greg Gonzalez. Mixing was done by Craig Silvey (Arcade Fire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs).
