Garmin GARMIN GPSMAP 64s Japanese Specification Version Handheld GPS
148.50 $
Description
This is a Garmin handheld GPS 64s.
This is a Japanese-customized model of the 64s (overseas version) originally sold by Rockpit, a company in Yamanashi Prefecture. The rockpit2020 Japan map (mountain map) is pre-installed (on an SD card).
It was used a few times for hiking and performed flawlessly, including its accuracy. It has daily life waterproofing (IPX7), but its rugged construction and clicky physical buttons make it easy to use even with gloves on. I think it's more user-friendly than a smartphone GPS for activities like ridge climbing or canyoning.
As it has been used infrequently and shows little sign of wear, I believe it is in excellent condition with no noticeable scratches or dirt.
The box is included, but the instruction manual is not (only in foreign languages). Please look up how to use it online or elsewhere. Thank you.
■Manufacturer: GARMIN
■Model: Handheld GPS
■Color: Orange x Gray x Black
■Approximate Size: Height 16cm x Width 6cm x Depth 4cm (actual measurements) / Weight: Approx. 220g (main unit + batteries)
■Details: This is a Japanese-customized version of the GPSMAP 64S (English version) sold by Rockpit in Yamanashi Prefecture.
The buttons have also been changed to Japanese characters, but Japanese input cannot be done on the device itself (although the display is in Japanese, Japanese input is not pre-installed). However, input via PC etc. seems possible (I haven't tried it, so I don't know the details, including connection methods).
The Japan map (Rockpit 2020) is pre-installed (on an SD card) and ready to use.
Garmin manufacturer updates cannot be performed (as it may remove the Japanese customization).
