Rovanperä then clinched consecutive victories in the high-speed gravel rallies of Poland and Latvia, showcasing the true strength of the current champion. Ogier claimed a commanding victory in Finland. The points race became increasingly fierce.
Hyundai secured a one-two finish in the chaotic Acropolis Rally. Points leader Neuville took the win. In the South American showdown in Chile, Toyota responded with a one-two finish.
With only two rounds remaining, Tänak secured his second win of the season at the Central European Rally. Toyota was unable to break Hyundai's stronghold, heading into the final round in Japan.
Evans emerged victorious. Toyota successfully defended its Manufacturers' Championship title at the very last moment.
And in the Drivers' Championship, the perennial runner-up, Neuville, finally claimed the championship title.
