Adjusted YAMAHA Oboe YOB-421 Semi-Automatic Yamaha Oboe
The logo has faded because I wipe the entire instrument with a cloth after each use. Please understand.
As you can see in the photos, the lettering is still faintly visible.
Thank you for looking!
This is a YAMAHA YOB-421 semi-automatic oboe.
My mother purchased it at a music fair in Fukuoka about 18 years ago and used it. Five years ago, she gave it to me when I expressed interest, but I started playing in a brass band with a different instrument. I had it repaired last year and have kept it in storage. The repair was done at Juji-do Musical Instruments in Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The cost was around 80,000 yen.
I have not used it since then.
The tone of this model (YOB-421) differs from the current YOB-431, and some people prefer the older model (YOB-421).
It has a light blowing feel, and produces a bright, solid, and clear tone.
