Vintage WWII Army Signal Corps Sweetheart Locket Brooch  This historic, World War II-era sweetheart homefront brooch features a striking gold-tone cursive Sister header heavily accented with clear, sparkling rhinestones. Suspended below is a beautifully crafted heart-shaped locket boasting a mother-of-pearl inlay face.  Mounted at the center of the heart is the official enamel insignia crest of the U.S. Army Signal Corps, complete with the motto banner reading Pro Patria Vigilans (Watchful for the Country). The locket frame is finished with a detailed, texture-stamped scroll border set with matching clear rhinestones.  The locket opens smoothly to hold two small photos. The interior frame is securely stamped with the historic maker’s mark: KINNEY PROV. R.I. (Kinney Co. of Providence, Rhode Island). A gorgeous piece of mid-century military memorabilia and collectible patriotic jewelry.
