Description
Finished bassoon reed. The thread wrapping is minimized at the base. Less tension on the thread results in rich overtones and a clear tone. The sound will be slightly prominent even in tutti passages. Thin thread is used, so firm pressure is applied to the base.
Minimizing the thread wrapping allows for rich overtones, makes it easier to produce a loud sound, and facilitates tone control with your embouchure. The wooden part is resin-coated to prevent air leaks.
