Rare and exceptional 1940s Hammersley & Co. bone china demitasse cup and saucer retailed by the prestigious T. Goode & Co. Ltd. of London — one of England's most celebrated china retailers since 1827. The striking design features a deep emerald green ground with an all-over gold honeycomb pattern, centered on a beautifully painted bird of paradise medallion on a white reserve inside both cup and saucer. Gold rim and handle throughout. Pattern number 4785/4.  Cup measures approximately 2.25 tall. Saucer approximately 4.75 diameter. Marked on base with both the Hammersley & Co. Bone China Made in England crown mark and the T. Goode & Co. Ltd. London retailer mark — a combination that significantly elevates collectibility and value. The T. Goode retailer mark on Hammersley bone china is increasingly rare to find in the secondary market.  Condition: Excellent — no chips, cracks, crazing, or gold wear on either piece.
