This was stored away at home. I heard the story from my grandmother about how it was acquired, but I've forgotten it. Was it given as a thank-you gift when attending a sumo match to cheer? I think she said something like, We'll all make yukatas with this. I also asked when it was from, but I've forgotten that too.
The basting threads are still attached, and the wrapping paper is also from that time.
The part extending from the wrapping paper is sun-faded due to age. (Photo 6)
I don't know the pattern of the fabric as I haven't unfolded it, but... is it similar to a pattern seen at a Yojiya shop? (Photo 5, apologies if the pattern is completely different.)
Fabric width: 37cm. Folded width: 15.5cm. Thickness: 3.4cm.
I will wrap and deliver it while maintaining its current condition without folding it further.
