Description
Men's Nagajuban Fabric, Pure Wool Mosslin Yuzen Bolt, Navy with Crest Pattern, 100% Wool, Men's Fabric Bolt

Material: Wool
Size: Approx. 75cm x 575cm

How about this rare men's nagajuban wool fabric, which is hard to find these days? Holes have been found near the surface. The folded areas may have slight age-related discoloration on the edges.

This is a rare pattern and the fabric is wide, so I am listing it with the hope that it can be used for remakes or other purposes.
The vinyl cover is for photography purposes to show the product details, but it will be removed before shipping.

My family's business was a long-established wholesale fabric dealer. This is a long-term inventory item. While there are signs of age-related deterioration, I am offering it at a low price, and I hope it can be used somewhere. We also accept bundled orders, so please apply through the bundling function.

Below is a description of the fabric.

This is a Yuzen Mosslin bolt with a crest pattern, made of 100% wool plain weave fabric called Mosslin (or Merinsu).

Material: Woven from 100% single-ply wool yarn, it is characterized by being light, warm, and conforming well to the body.

Technique: Uses Yuzen dyeing, a traditional Japanese dyeing technique. Since the Meiji era, the advent of vibrant colors from imported chemical dyes made it possible to popularize mosslin with complex landscape patterns like this.

Uses and Historical Context
Main Uses: Primarily used for men's nagajuban (underkimono), casual wear, and children's kimonos.

Historical Context: Mosslin was extremely popular from the Meiji to Taisho and early Showa periods, even being described as a necessity of national life. Patterns like the one in this image were particularly popular motifs for men's juban.

Today, it is enjoyed not only as kimono fabric but also as material for remakes into interior items such as tapestries and placemats, or bags.
