Delft Blue Hand Painted Tear bottle Floral Bud Vase Dutch Pottery 168 Blue White

Delft Blue hand-painted tearbottle bud vase showcases a classic Dutch floral motif in vibrant shades of cobalt and light blue against a crisp white glazed ceramic background. The elegant teardrop-shaped base tapers into a slender neck, making it an ideal vessel for a single stem or a charming decorative accent. Hand-marked on the bottom with traditional Delft signatures and numbering, this piece reflects the timeless craftsmanship of Dutch pottery. The concept that people actively cried into tiny vials to save as tokens of grief during the Roman Empire and Victorian era is largely considered a romantic historical myth. The small, teardrop-shaped glass and pottery vessels found in ancient tombs were actually cosmetic or perfume containers (called unguentaria), which held scented oils used to anoint the dead.
